LATEST NEWS

Welcome to our news page which we will endeavour to update regularly to keep you informed of all the latest happenings here at The Barometer Shop, which we hope you will find interesting and may even be helpful if you are planning to visit us some time in the not too distant future.

A private announcement from Colin and Verity

On a personal level, 2008 was an extremely difficult time for us as we tragically lost one of our daughters, Shelby, after her long and courageous battle against a brain tumour. Her bravery, however, was an inspiration to us all and as a tribute to her we are determined The Barometer Shop will go on to bigger and better things; helped by Kirby and with the support and encouragement of our other son and daughter we hope to make the business even more successful than it has been in the past, so that our two grandsons can hopefully in years to come carry it well into the 21st century and beyond!

Despite all th e doom and gloom surrounding the financial markets, not everything is as black as it may seem; in fact if you have a clock or barometer in need of restoration, now is an excellent time to take advantage of the lower rate of VAT whilst it remains reduced. Also, with interest rates at an all time low and savings earning next to nothing, now is also the ideal time to invest in that special clock or barometer you have always promised yourself but never got round to buying. Much nicer to enjoy something of beauty in your own home than leave money in a bank account effectively losing value day by day.

New for The Barometer Shop in 2009 is our venture into Ethnic art. we are gradually building up a good selection of decorative pieces at affordable prices which will look good in any home, from tribal wall masks to African carved figures, our stock is increasing daily, so why not come and see what we have to offer.
Hopefully the weather will be kinder to us than it has been for the last two summers when our attendance at the local agricultural shows with our " mobile marquee" has been seriously curtailed due to flooding. We are booked to go to the Bromyard Gala July 4/5th, Tenbury Show 1st August, Burwarton Show 6th August and Kington Show in September.

Our commitment to customer service remains as important as ever and we hope we will have the opportunity of meeting you either at the shop or at one of these "out and about" days, but if you are unable to travel please feel to pick up the phone and we will be more happy to discuss your requirements.
